Description
I thought I was doing another showcase render.
I could remember getting this outfit the day it came out. It was a must-grab, simply because it was from Zoro_D. I thought I paid for it. It sat in my runtime, unused. Making me feel guilty. for spending money on something I didn't really have a use for.
So yesterday I sat down to right that wrong. And this whole scene came to me entire. I was pretty proud of myself, and after actually loading the outfit, I felt no more buyer's remorse for it. It comes with several textures, and poses! Including the one you see here. A fantastic set.
Imagine my surprise, then, when I go to tag the outfit and it isn't in Zoro_D's store! A little research, and there it was in the free stuff section. D'oh!
I have to say though, this outfit is SOOOO good, I would have paid money for it. That's what surprised me, because I thought I had!
The scene is one that I can use for my Steampunk game, so that's nice! Although the most out-there element in the scene is pretty hidden by the DOF. That lady in the back by the wall is wearing a gas mask, lol. I wanted to make sure that Beliniah there was the primary focus of the scene. I actually did a render without the other people in it, but I think this way she actually draws the focus even more.
We got Biscuit's Jam hair. Powered some nail polish from Sonja. The set up is the "Fantasy Council Room." The lantern, of course, is from Cogman's. I could recall this scene in an old movie (can't remember the name of it) of a belly dancer twirling around a candleabra, so I wanted to do a variation on that theme. I absolutely love how her skin looks. That was a happy accident, for sure!
Besides the lantern, there's a single spotlight, set as a fill, and with the temp set to 4k.
If you haven't nabbed this outfit from Free Stuff yet, be sure to do so!

P.S. STILL not getting site emails, so getting to everybody's wonderful art is proving a challenge. I'm trying to keep caught up, I promise!

Lovely work my friend! Another fine use of the lantern (I love the shadows it makes!), and she looks great in that light.
Very nice all round.

Beautiful pose, staging, pallet and character. Also want to thank you for describing the work and the assets - wish more talented artists were so helpful in describing a piece. See it, read it. learn it. Most of us could use some insight - myself foremost.
Gonna get the lantern. Thanks!
I appreciate the feedback. I've spent a lot of time wondering "How did they do that?"
I believe that just because we learn the "tricks" other people use, doesn't mean we take away from their art. Even understanding how a magician does his tricks still makes the illusions impressive. I'm glad people get something out of it. Even if they didn't, well, I enjoy writing it so I'd continue anyway!

Beautifully done!

That actually looks better than Princess Leia's fabled slave outfit actually. (I always thought it looked tacky)
Well, I think tacky worked for it because it was picked out by a giant space slug. I always find it odd that people would cosplay the outfit, because Leia definitely did NOT choose to wear it herself. Fisher hated it, too.
Thanks for the look, and I'm glad you like it! It really is a lovely outfit.

Very nice! There are several dancing scenes that comes to mind. But the one that sticks out is Salma Hayek in: From dusk till down.

A delightful and beautiful scene. The lighting is perfect. The lady in the gas mask thinks that there will a gas attack from the 7-bean soup served just an hour ago?
