Description
After I left the nature center where the butterflies were, I visited that city's local park that had a pond and happened across these turtles catching the afternoon sun.
Thank you very much for your views and comments.

I've seen how intuitive your eye is, for composition: You have a way of finding just the place to bring forth your subject(s), and you give it to us without an ounce of pretense. Ie, it doesn't feel 'openly chosen', it just is . The rock with the turtles is a perfect example, of many. A beautiful centered sight, which eschews 'centered-ness' because of the slant, the shadows, and those turtles climbing up one side, with one in the background. It's a really complex thing, that rock. A shot all to itself.
As for the rest, such beautiful waters, with a really complex surface---so much going on in it! And the overhanging branches give it a Japanese touch, a gentle canopy to your shot. Beautiful, Maria. I love the pink and other hues on the water...like someone came along and spilled paints all over it...such a delicate shot...

I am putting a 't' in that word and call it 'stunning'.

Sweet! Looks like the sun has moved, so they need to shift position a bit or they'll cool off. Wonderful capture!

I love the way you've framed this with the foreground branches. You have a way of making something seem intimate and immediate. Beautifully done!

But for the 'eschews', what Mark said in this fabulous capture of the docile reptiles warming their bodies under the Texas sun, Maria. Love the clarity, composition, contrasts, patterns and textures of it all.
