Whats the point of making a model if you can't play with it, eh? Here HMAS Canberra steams ahead of my USS Chicago model (Share CG), as they might have appeared off Guadalcanal in early August 1942, the day before the Battle of Savo Island. The flagship HMAS Australia is not in view (or has inconveniently popped off somewhere with the Admiral?)
I adopted a "sea blue" shader for now, to approximate the cruiser's appearance at Guadalcanal. The model remains unmapped, still some more tweaking to do as better reference material turns up (I see an artist at www.world-war.co.uk has an interesting set of diagrams charting the upgrades of this and others of the Kent-class. I'll have to study those closely to see how to make several models with one hull and a basic superstructure).
Rendered in Vue 8 Esprit.
