Description
I guess every ship has someone who "knows someone.." - like when you need paint or cigarettes or radio components and you need them NOW... But in the mid-1940s, with the liberation of the Philippines under way- and suicidal air attacks becoming the norm- the fleet's "magpies" turned their minds to scrounging AA guns, the bigger and nastier the better. Twin 20 mm Oerlikons just didn't pack the right wallop. That's why, between cruises into the maelstrom, all these "spare" (honest, Mate!) Bofors 40 mm guns started popping up in available places on the deck and superstructure of HMAS Australia and her Royal Navy twin HMAS Shropshire. Sure beats trading cigarettes eh... ;-)
BeyondVR's battleship and destroyer are available here at Rendo, as is Touchwood's Bofors. I don't know why I didn't think using this model like this before (...hits forehead...). The helmet is a Rendo free item (Michael 4: World War II Headwear pack III- GaryChildress).

This is a great "first person" view, Brian, and the story is a nice bit of history very nicely written. Really enjoyable. Well done!

You've been putting out some really nice renders as of late and it looks like your models are coming along very well... Keep up the great work! ;)
