Description
Dante, with Virgil, in the "Divina Commedia" go out of Hell enters Purgatory.
Purgatory has the specific function of expiation, reflection and repentance, this is the path that souls take to access Paradise.
(These days the world population seems to be going through something similar but it will end and we hope that it has served to make us more aware and less selfish.)
In the image the gray souls immersed in the liquid of sin gradually emerge and rise and acquire the precious golden color.
The idea is not so much to represent a scene as to underline a state of mind of the souls of Purgatory.

Splendid creation! Aye, we've got an Earthly version of Purgatory right now; but nothing lasts forever.

Absolutely splendid, one of your very best...this asks a question; are we in Purgatory or already in Hell ? What is our colour right now ? Grey or gold ?

Awesome Picture! I love how you bring a thought or a word into a picture!
How ever I doubt that mankind will ever learn something from that crisis (they didn't in the financial crisis 2008/2009) Although it is after a few weeks already visible, that if humans would restrict them self, Nature could breathe again, humans are too lazy to learn something from that and after that crisis all the politicians and economists will deny that the behavior of mankind has any an impact on nature and climate. In my country we suddenly see lynx in the forests and dears where filmed just strolling through streets of smaller villages. If humans restrict them self, nature will claim back what belongs to it and diversity will be possible and everybody could peacefully live beside each other. But I'm afraid we will go through purgatory just to return to hell after all, because we haven't learned anything...

Splendid work

I am impressed on how you succeeded to express so much emotion from faceless characters.
I agree about the fact that we are going through purgatory. But, do not bet on our suffering that we will learn from our experience. Our civilization has been meticulously corrupted for 150 years by a subversive communist-like indoctrination, and ALL our cherished institutions are being infiltrated. Who, do you think, are pushing these doctrines? The global banks and those who control them. They also control all mass media and international news agencies. Our news has become a propaganda machine.
