Description

took this in the 80's during the war with Mexico there was fighting here. on the other side holes can be seen on the walls. I was working on the lawn this morning after walking for about 4 miles. the humidity was really strong. I talked to my oldest sister this afternoon and she will go home on Tuesday. she has an appointment Wednesday with the surgeon to remove her stitches. she can not move her right arm for 8 weeks and she is having a hard time trying to use her left. she normally uses her cane with her right arm The Philippines had a 6.8 earthquake and heavy rains flooding large areas. the people that had chickens lost them all in the flood water.

This is a most beautiful photo. Since 1977 when we had a 7.2 Richter earthquake, I don't like very much earthquakes...
Earthquakes and floods sound very bad. It's frightening.

I hope your sister can cope with the extended inaction of her arm which is necessary in order to heal properly. Nice capture Richard. No matter what the age!

Thank you for sharing this historic photo. I hope your sister will heal quickly, unfortunately I know well the problem of the cane on the side where you have a problem in the arm and shoulder where you suffer, I wish her good luck.

What a shame that this building has not been renovated. It would be so nice to see it in its original state. Thank you for this picture. A thought for all the people affected in the Philippines.

impressive monument, like the figures too, if you half close your eyes they seem to be floating in the air :)

I wish your sister full recovery, and I'm very sorry about her pain and surgery. Getting older (I'm 72) ain't fun...Grand sight, and your shot captured real light on that amazing facade, mixed with the deeper hues of the stairs and stone wall below. Amazing sight, and I love the two vested men on each side...always good to see your earlier film work. (It's hard to believe that film was the thing for so long...you spent a fortune on each roll, you ran out quickly and had to replace them, then they had to be developed...yet film is so unique and warm compared to digital...the pros and cons of an old magnificent art...)
