Description
I was.... WAS.... Beginning to come out of my depression a bit. Then this happened.
I am so sorry, but it looks like T.N.A. is going to be on hold indefinitely. Thank you SO much Adobe.
As explained in the image, today was EOL for Adobe Flash - which I knew they were discontinuing it. I did NOT know that was going to totally F##K my Poser up! So now, not only does my DAZ machine not work, now Poser is hosed on 2 machines. I tried getting on Adobe's support site, but that was an exercise in frustration. Apparently with all the money Adobe makes (from people like me on their CC plan), they can't afford to hire people who speak or understand ENGLISH, so of course I had to try 16 ways from Sunday to explain to this freakiing moron what I needed. Can't I just run Flash on MY computer and forget updates? I just want to USE the damn thing!
I do have Poser 11.3 on a laptop, but it's a lot easier on my old eyes to have 2 big monitors to work with. I've not yet upgraded to the new Poser 12 - not sure if it will work on a Win 7 machine. And since I'm not working now, I have to be a bit more careful with spending.
The upshot is... I'm not sure when I'll be able to get the next page in the story done and posted. Right now, with this on top of everything else going on, I'm pretty damn discouraged.
Anyway, it looks like I'm going to have to do a buttload of research over the next couple weeks. I don't know how soon I'll be posting, but I will be working on these issues. I sometimes wonder why the #$#% I retired. Seems like I spend more time troubleshooting stuff than when I was working.
Hope you all are having a better day...
UPDATE: 01-13-21: I applied the fix that was posted in the Poser Forums - and emailed to me by Rick (Twiztidkid) and Poser Pro 2014 is aliiiive! Things are looking up!
This image was offline for a while, but back up now thanks to our great mods. I've "softened" my outburst a bit LOL.
I'm still taking a little break, but I'll be back soon.

Oh Rod! That is such bullshit from Adobe. I've always felt that they (the company) don't really care about their customers, but this is just outrageous!
Apparently, Poser 11.3 does not require Flash to display the Content Libraries (Runtime's). Poser 11.3 is working on my PC with Win 10, I know 'cause I just fired it up and all is well. Even displays older Poser content going back to Poser 7.
I feel for ya mate! Hope you sort something out very soon!
Cheers, Steve
Heh - my first 2 comments from buds named Steve! 😄
Yeah, this on top of everything else going on has me pretty discouraged right now. Not ready to totally say 'screw it' but I'm getting pretty close...
I'll get Poser 12 eventually, but for now, I guess I'll just use 11.3 on the laptop.

Yeah, like you was wondering WTF, I asked you then you found out and told me about Adobe doing that BS! at least I have several images backed up to post until I can get a newer version. 11.2 I think is what I ordered. Will be waiting for next page my friend.
We got screwed us older poser users.
Yeah, it's pretty fucked up.
Maybe we all need to gather, put on silly T-Shirts, paint our faces, wear bearskin hats with buffalo horns, and march down the street in front of Adobe's HQ. Like I said to Steve above, I'm not ready to pull the plug yet, but getting close... 😢

Diemamker () 9:01PM | Tue, 12 January 2021
WTF!!!! you mean you can't make anything on poser at all??.... boy does that S##K! I hope you get this fix quickly! I'm here dying to see what happens next! I checked mine, and it's working fine. but then again I'm using an older poser.

TwiztidKidd () 9:42PM | Tue, 12 January 2021
I saw this coming and I dl-ed both, flash player and air, the offline install files... let me know if you need them, bud. I have Poser 7 and 10 running fine... they're on a laptop running Win7 without internet access... so noone messes with my stuff.
Thanks, Rick! I don't think I have Air on this machine, but I'll do more research tomorrow - I'm just too burned out to mess with it anymore today. Right now, I'm ready to walk on kittens.. I saw a couple workarounds on one of the forums that involve Air. So maybe I can get it going again. I've been considering going ahead and upgrading to P-12 - I was just kinda waiting for everyone else to find all the bugs! LOL But yeah, keep those handy - I might just take you up on that.

Geez... I feel awful that you older Poser users are getting the shaft like this, it sucks ass. All large corporations care about nowadays is how much money they can screw out of you.
They say they care about the people, but the only people they TRULY care about are George (Washington), Abe (Lincoln), Alex (Hamilton), Andy (Jackson) Uly (Grant) and Benny (Franklin).
If I were you, I'd take Twiztid up on his offer and tell Adobe to go f##k themselves.
Good luck guys and hope to see you back in action (one way or another).

LOL - it took me a minute (it's been a long, frustrating day), but yeah... At least it's the pictures of those Presidents on little pieces of paper they care about (I'd like to send them another "president" in person, but I'm not going there...). I'll be back at some point...

Hey Rod, what a bullshit! Hope you find a solution soon!

NobbyC () 1:35AM | Wed, 13 January 2021
That's bad, my Poser 11 version is still running. I'm not sure if Flash is needed there. If necessary, I can use schaderworker's library manager.

starship64 () Online Now! 1:44AM | Wed, 13 January 2021
This is complete BS. All that money and all those expert programmers, and they just don't care at all about their customers.

donnena () Online Now! 9:10PM | Wed, 13 January 2021
Hi guys You can open File Explorer and drag and drop your assess into Poser without issue. For those of us with vision problems you can use the extra Large Icon setting so you can see what's happening. Those of you who have Basil's Advanced libraries (no longer available) can use that as well.

UteBigSmile () 12:50AM | Thu, 14 January 2021
Hey Rod, what a bullshit, but shit happen every Day! 🤣

Kordouane () 7:00AM | Thu, 14 January 2021
Phew!! I was very afraid for you, apparently you are not the only one in this unacceptable situation. I hope that you will be able to get out of it as soon as possible and at a lower cost. This is called programmed obsolescence. So that people buy more often. I often think that one day Daz Studio might become a paying studio and that scares me terribly. Take care of yourself my friend, do the best you can, I won't forget you and I remain faithful to my real friends like you, good luck Rod.

That's a pretty piss poor situation and set of circumstances for you and many like you..but glad to hear you've got it kind of sorted..!

tetrasnake () 10:24AM | Thu, 14 January 2021
That royally sucks. What is your workflow? I'm using the latest version of Poser Pro 11, which doesn't require flash, and Adobe CS5. I haven't upgraded to the latest version of OSX, due to the fact that It'll give me problems with CS5. I'm any case. I hope you can get things squared away soon. I'll miss your ladies too. Be well, my friend.

OMG! Rod! I too experienced the big F- word too on my Poser 2014 pro. I searched the internet for a solution but couldn't find one that I was able to understand. In the process, I discovered my current newest computer no longer creates reliable restore points so I am at the mercy of the gods there. But in the process, I did figure a work around so I can still use poser 2014 pro. Go into your general preferences under the 'edit' tab at the top menu of your screen. Open that up and click on the 'Library' tab. Once in that mode, find the 'Launch Behavior' square in the lower right hand of the page. Click the 'External' button. Then it will tell you that you need to restart poser for the change to take effect. Once you do that, the library will open up in an external window. I know it is inconvenient but at least you can still access your libraries and work on your art in this program. I resized poser to accomodate the external library page so I don't have to keep opening it when working on the image. Got it set up so the library page is on one side and the program occupies the rest of the screen. At least that is working for me and I am still able to use poser 2014 pro. Like you, I don't really like poser 11 and I doubt that poser 12 is much better. Haven't heard anyone review it yet so I'm thinking not too many adopters out there yet? At any rate, I hope this helps you. I still have poser 2014 pro on an older computer that isn't hooked up to the internet but I haven't tried it yet. It should work, (fingers crossed) since it doesn't have access to the internet so old files should still be intact. Hope I'm thinking correctly. Take care my friend. I look forward to hearing from you if you try this fix and if it works for you. Damn it, why can't they just leave things alone? If it works fine, don't try to fix it. Just another attempt to force you to buy new software. The greedy bastards!

I posted 5 pictures last evening and none would show when selecting my gallery, but they were in the main gallery. rewards showed I posted them also. finally later they showed up. I have heard of your problem before, so I do not even try to use my old versions of Poser

WolaverJS () 7:02PM | Thu, 21 January 2021
I found this January 2. Use a different browser, "Brave." It is free to download and it runs these videos just fine.

misumu () 1:59AM | Thu, 28 January 2021
The way Adobe handled this was despicable. in the past the EOL for a software product meant you were on your own, if you kept using it. Never before did it mean that they would disable the feature entirely. Worse still they did not take into account that some of the places that their product were being used were not obvious to end users. I am sorry you had to undergo such nonsense. My only shock was that I didn't realize some of my browsers were still using it. I think Adobe is a terrible company with disdain for customers, I hope this will give their competitors a boost.

Adobe hasn't had my business (and that of many others) since their Creative Suite went cloud-only. These days I use GIMP, and I'm willing to put up with its minor idiosyncracies.
