I suppose this requires a little bit of an explanation... Seriously.... After all it's not every day one gets flipped off by a squirrel....
But first... This is for you, Mark - you know why, bro! You are one of the kindest, most awesome and talented folks I know - you're the best, buddy!
Mark mentioned that he'd seen my latest Behind The Scenes and enjoyed the part where I'm removing the glass insulators from my backyard "decoration" - my old telephone pole. He was wondering how many squirrels I'd beaned while I was up there looking like a big, bald monkey (and NOT a flying one, either..) tossing 2-pound glass insulators to the ground (Didn't break even one!).
So, I just HAD to put this together and dedicate it to him! Hope you all get a giggle out of this bit of silliness!
And just in case there are any concerns.... No squirrels, insulators, wooden poles, or fools climbing around on an old pole were harmed in the making of this image. Really. I wouldn't kid you. Much.....
Language ticked for the squirrel's bad attitude... LOL
As always, thanks for stopping by, and for all your awesome comments, supports, friendships, and your own inspirational art!

I watched you tossing the insulators and to be honest I didn't think of the squirrels, I was just worried you were going to fall off the ladder. I'm glad you didn't fall or hurt squirrels. Good luck with all your projects and this funny scene made me laugh out loud. Silly squirrels.

As a kid I'd walk along the old train tracks and collect the insulators that had fallen.

love it! love the piece, Rod! I love that the right-side guy was knocked unconscious (not sure he's still breathing), and the other is giving the bird to you---love it! I always say, If your own characters can't give you the finger, who the hell can? (My characters give me the finger every day. Like, once an hour...don't feel bad...)
As an aside, we climbed a telephone pole when I was 8, and found insulators so fascinating, we wanted to take them home. They were like little german helmets, lol (I mean WWII helmets) made of reeeeeally thick glass. But: Watching you throw them down was something else! After all the time you took to collect them, watching you toss them away like they were old milk cartons was absolutely terrifying. And I'm with Barb/bakapo that I was more concerned for your survival than I was for the poor squirrels. I couldn't believe you actually climbed that ladder. I almost had a heart attack watching you. (I thought, is he gonna actually go to the highest rung??? thank god you didn't...)
Thanks so much, Rod. I really appreciate it, along with your very kind and caring words. Thanks so much. I'll get to more images in the coming week, but thank you for this and your kindness. The leaves are wonderfully green, btw: They feel like harbingers of a new and better year. So may you and Jo have light and joy from here out, as it's high time. And one day, 8000 squirrels are gonna come to your door, carrying 2 million insulators, and say: "Hey, Collider-guy: Take these! One of 'm killed my cousin! (I didn't like my cousin, but still...)" Love it. Take care, friend, and a great spring to you and Jo!

Have you ever listened to a Squirrel? They are more profane than R2D2, and they bleeped everything he said!
Super image and story!

thanks for the chuckle Rod. I see Mark had already made one of is awesome comments he offers us. yeah, climbed then poles myself and even grabbed the wire, not more then one at a time. my best climb was for a saddle looking design. only have one left. gave all away or sold a few mega years ago. most don't fall, the phone people would drop and replace them for newer ones (ceramic). collected several on ground myself. great job on this wonderful dedi for a truly kind person and writer.

Hotdam, Rod, this scene is so hilarious. Got a well-deserved belly laugh from me. Love that what you've done with the poor little guy who got knocked out and that feisty guy with his middle finger is a show stopper.

Great job on this Mr. Rod! I went on and watched your behind the scenes video and I must commend you on your handy work in building those awesome desks...your are quite the craftsman! I complement you on having such a great computer layout, I would like to someday have a layout like that myself, but just don't have the space where I live! As far as the squirrels go...they are probably just happy to not have any more objects drop from above! These squirrels are going to miss the tranquility you have provided for them...when you move away! Keep up the awesome work! :-)

LOL, it's good to be silly once in a while, Big Bro. I'm glad that despite of the current situation that most everybody are going cuckoo from the current situation, you still kept your funny side (which is great, by the way). Thank you for sharing the silliness, it is much needed! ;-)
