Description
The sun was setting over the forest, as I made my way back to the charred remains of the Hollow.
The destroyed remains of my old home told me where I was, I ascended the tree I had called home.
Between the two restraints she had made in my old home, I placed the clothes and boots she had given me placing the lantern carefully on top, before I lit the light one last time, I wanted her to know I was here and that I was waiting for her.
I still didn't know if I was ready for this as the flame took hold and the light glowed radiating all around, clouds has started rolling in with a storm brewing.
I stood out on the branch of my poor old Hollow home, as the storm was coming in as I saw a blue light in the distance, she had seen my signal and was very much coming to greet me.
As they grew closer I could see her with two guards, one I had seen in the cave the other I didn't know, I readied myself, I died here or lived, there was no other option tonight.
"Evelyn the little fool" she cackled as she grew closer, she couldn't see where I was but she didn't care, she had such confidence in her victory and in truth I had little faith I could really do anything, but I stood ready anyway, either way tonight I would be free of her at any cost.
Lightning illuminated the sky behind me as I unleashed my first arrow towards her.
She threw one of the guards in front of her, taking that arrow straight to the chest and falling into the dust and ashes of the Hollow, she simply pointed her staff to the branch I had been on, unleashing a ball of energy at the branch, trying to kill off my Hollow and me along with it.
I had moved to the ground and ran towards the deeper forest, the storm illuminating the world periodically.
"Run! Run as fast as you can Little One!" she yelled out in a crazed state as she gave chase with the guard right behind her.
I entered the forest, running as fast as I could, I saw one of the gnarled trees in front of me, "time for action" I thought to myself.
I ascended to the canopy and watched her blue lights entering the forest, once again I readied my bow.
She was about to pass below when the lightning blew my cover, I unleashed my second arrow, she threw the guard again, they dodged the arrow just barely, it grazing just past their cheek.
I ran again, deeper into the forest, suddenly a blue light was on top of me, a little blue orb passed me hitting a tree just in front of me, it was instantly incinerated.
"It's only a matter of time now Evelyn" she was yelling and laughing wildly at me as I lead her deeper into the trees.
We ran deeper into the forest, I had a plan, I just had to get there faster!
