Description
This was a labor of love, I tell ya! That dForce hair demands a PC upgrade, lol.
Rendered in three layers. While she's just a little brighter than if I had rendered her WITH the background, I feel this serves to help her stand out a little better. The lighting the same, there's just few obstacles in the layers that is just her.
Which I had to do twice to deal with hair clipping on those ears.
This is the NPC companion of one of my players. Her name is Nani. She was saved from certain death by the character. A so-called "noble" was in the process of clubbing her brain in when the player intervened. Nani received healing, and started following the player around. I rolled stealth rolls for her for an entire day and she kept succeeding extremely well, so I ended up just making that a part of the character. She's incredibly good at remaining hidden. Since the player plays a rogue-type character, this works out. (Also, Foxes can be very sneaky too, so I think it all fits thematically.)
Nani doesn't say much. When she does speak, it's usually just in single words. That's been fun to describe, as she using gestures to convey what she wants. The player is in the process of spoiling her, lol. I mean, good for her - she was living on the street.
Almost every player has a companion, except for the Ninja Vampyre. Eventually, he will as well, but since his character is much more of a loner, it's worked out pretty nice this way. I'm already juggling quite a few NPCs, lol. (My fault. I didn't think the players would take to the world so much, or end up spending so much time just hanging out on Discord! Good problems to have.)
Three layers, and doing it that way I could render each pass in twenty minutes or less. I actually tried to render it as one scene last night, and at 10 hours it was full of noise. This is definitely a case where I (can( do it in layers, and I ought to remember to do it that way more often.
Tail is from Reyna. Ears are for the Foxy Girl add-on for the Cat Girl mega pack. Hair is the layered fringe hair. Outfit is Viking Maiden - purchased just for Nani and boy I'm glad it was on sale! Fantastic textures. I'm going to have to do another render with it soon. Boots came from Fair Tides, though. The slippers that came with Viking Maiden left a little to be desired.
I played around with a few ideas for Nani, including just modifying Reyna for a more fox-look and applying fox fur and such to a human model. However, the player presented some art showing a human face, and I decided that was a good way to go. I just wish the Reyna ears had come as a separate piece, because the fur on them is a lot better. Though since I did this in layers, maybe I could have rendered just the ears and layered it in? IDK. I think this turned out all right.
Happy Thursday. I'll be browsing galleries in a little bit. Hope everybody is having a spectacular day.
