Interesting comparison. My main go-tos are infinite, spot and point. I don't think I've ever used diffuse..

I hardly see the point or value of this. The white background washes out any affect of the light. And the result depends on light placement, level, shadow and a host of other factors. Also in Poser lights are invariably used in combinations. Indoor and outdoor scenes typically use entirely different lighting approaches. Indoors a spot might serve as a main light to illuminate an actor on stage. Outdoors a spotlight at low level could lighten a shadowy area to reveal a person's facial expression.
