Description
This is Galileo traveling near Jupiter and four of its Moons; Io, Callisto, Ganymede and Europa. Jupiter and the four Moons are with real surface map textures. Stars are a photo from the Hubble telescope on a 2D panel. Rendered with radial lights & Sun light on.
Built & rendered in Bryce 5.5. Rendering time 37min at 2000 x 1399 pixels. Bryce document size 17 MB. Outer glow, sharpening image and signature in postwork.
This great Galileo model is by Jack Higgins at TCM (Galileo with a new texturing by me). Jupiter texture and Moons textures are by The Celestia Motherlode. Thanks very much for your stuff.
Thanks for viewing and all comments are appreciative. Have a great day and happy weekend.

This is a fantastic composition!! Inspirational!! Love the lighting! One minor crit, would be nice to see some shiny surfaces on Galileo, but that is minor. This is a really fantastic image!!

Always love a space scene. This is very well done as is your other space scenes. I'm actually working on an image similar to this (different planets tho'). Jupiter is my favorite gas giant and Io is my favorite moon. * Voix!*

Your work is always an inspiration. You've taken a fairly common 3D concept and made it spectactular.

Nice render... For some reason I consider the aspect of some "little" probie meandering through the vastness of space as cool. Also didn't NASA have some official models in .3ds format somewhere? (Although if I remember right, they were a bit unwieldy for most rendering purposes.)

Must have been a spectacular view from the Gallileo perspective in real time. You have captured the awesome view pretty close. Good work!!

Very well put together! Love the compo. For my money, the spacecraft should be more white than grey but it's your work. Just my 0.02p

Thanks all for viewing, and for your comments, please feel free to check out the rest of my gallery. - From some images I found, Galileo was not so shiny but more on grey colour and orange gold.

It makes you want to just get out there and see it for yourself. (Sigh) Until that becomes possible this is the next best thing. Nice work!
