I found a few photos I shot about 10 years ago and thought I would share them with you. The shots I will be uploading are all from Ocracoke, NC. Ocracoke is one of the barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina, USA.
I had risen pre-dawn to go surf fishing off the south point of the island. My destination entailed driving my 4-wheel drive truck across sand flats about ½ beyond the dune line to the surf. About an hour into my fishing a fog bank moved in that was so thick I could see only about two car lengths. After about an hour hoping the fog would lift I drove back to the beach access ramp on intuition only because I didn’t want to get caught out on the sand bar with the tide coming in.
With nothing else to do, I took my camera down to the small harbor and took a couple photos as the fog finally started to lift.
I had to scan these from prints because I can’t find the negatives. I brushed out some scan noise and spots on the prints.

This is really great. The feel of the fog, the sense of the ocean, the imagined scent of the heavy salt air... Its all good.
