Locked in the fiery tombs of the city of Dite, Dante meets the soul of Farinata degli Uberti, leader of the Ghibellines of Florence, leader in the historic battle of Montaperti in 1260. Dante has with him political controversies, which allow Farinata to prophesy to the poet his future exile. The character of Cavalcante dei Cavalcanti, father of the poet Guido, a friend of Dante who, in his opinion, should accompany him on the journey to the afterlife, inserts himself in the dialogue: the poet's ambiguous response throws him into despair and makes him believe, erroneously, that Guido is already dead (in reality Dante's friend died only in August 1300)

In your images I particularly like the way the textures irrigate the shapes like organic skin. From their inside, they seem to be crossed by a whole network that transports their energy. For the characters, it is even more striking, their skin replaces the expression of their face, by a state of being.

It's not only a great pleasure for the eyes it's also a good opportunity to learn things about Dante and his times and to feel less stupid. Thank you.

A very powerful image !! The composition is excellent, as well as the poses and expressions. The textures are really extraordinary. They give the idea of a substance that is no longer that of the flesh but something else. And a certain "materiality" as well, which fits well with Hell, which is not a place but a state of consciousness where souls are still too heavy to rise... Using geometric shapes instead of real flames is a good idea to suggest a state of consciousness rather than a place, and these shapes suggest the gravity of this state...You did a really great work with this series...And all these informations on Dante's life are very interesting...
