Description
Do Androids dream of electric sheep...and consider working complicated tools more important than the ability to create?
This image came to me as a result of my recent forray into the Animation Job market. The knowledge of some tools seemed more important then the ability to create. Would have found what they said about all the tools more acceptable...if they had shown work which would make one pause and think to oneself "Wish I had done that!"
The background sculpture as also the heavy machinery (SKULPTOR Mk II) and the android were all created in Wings 3D! Please do check out this wonderful and free SW at www.wings3d.com.
The foreground sculpture and sculptor were both created in Bryce, using booleans.
Image rendered in Bryce. No post work.
Wish everybody a Very Happy New Year!

Cool image, even reinforces the point you made about the tools... Like you said, it really should be about the artist.

Great! But what's this got to do with 'BLADERUNNER' ? Really excellent work and a surprising composition! Vote!

Excellent and thought-provoking work as usual Avi.

Thanx for the comments and appreciation folks. @ Bryster: The image per se has nothing to do with 'The Blade runner". But Blade runner was itself made from Philip K Dick's story "Do Androids dream of electric sheep", in which PK Dick looked into the question of machines having emotions. I decided to take this concept a bit further and do a Jonathan Swift (as what he did with Gulliver's travel) and inspect present day mores and thought processes through the eyes of Androids. I found the fascination of what tool you use as against what you can create funny. Thus I wondered Androids (our creations and tools) would carry forward this fascination of ours! :)
