Zavora's plan is realized as the final stage of her rocket reaches its intended poistion and begins the clockwork-controlled sequence. Radio transmitters of increasing power are unshielded and activated in order. The rocket launch location and time were chosen to place the rocket payload at a position between the Mirrorsun ring and one of the ancient weapon satellites, called Wanderers. Zavora has observed these satellites for years and using the Calculor charted their orbits. The Wanderers detect electrical activity and destroy the activity's source with a directed energy beam. Zavora's payload of several transmitters was designed to survive several levels of attack so as to finally draw the maximum level of energy from the Wanderer. The sequence was planned so that when this highest energy beam followed the moving payload it would also sweep across the Mirrorsun ring.
In the image, the ancient Wanderer, pitted by centuries of micrometeorite strikes, finally destroys the rocket payload, but in the background the energy beam has also damaged Mirrorsun as it swept across its distant dark ribbon, exactly as Zavora intended.
The ancient military satellite is a retextured Stellar Fury from DAZ. The energy beam is a stretched out rocket exhaust from Cybertenko's Rocketship and the destruction effects are from Jepe's FlameZ (DAZ). Zavora's hardly visible rocket payload the Military Satellite from Content Paradise and the environment is Blue Planet from DAZ.
The scene, inspired by the Greatwinter trilogy, was composed and rendered in Poser 11 Pro.
