It was black. He switched on a dim red light and found himself in a small room with a large pipe marked “FLOOD”. It continued up through the ceiling and had an electronic keypad on one side. Then he saw another hatch. Another electronic lock. He had it open in less than a minute. When he opened the hatch he saw a room that was dim and cool and he saw and heard no one. He climbed into the room and secured the hatch. It was in the corner of the room. When he looked around, he saw it was a large room with a twenty foot ceiling. He couldn't see the other edges because his view was blocked by walls of computer banks that went from the floor to almost the ceiling. There was nothing in his floor plans for this. He walked around until he found a large cable tube in the ceiling. It seemed all the computer banks were linked together and connected to one terminal. There was a conduit leading from the terminal to the ceiling and conveniently there was a door in the ceiling next to the conduit. Presumably for maintenance and initial construction.
Without delay, Jason made his way there. The hatch was locked, but Jason used his skills to open the conventional padlock. I guess they didn't figure on needing high security in this area. When he got through, he was greeted by a sight dimly illuminated by many LED lights. He could see the room above and see that it was isolated from the rock walls and the main building by massive springs and shock absorbers. It seems level 3 was free floating. This made it easier for him. He climbed around and made his way to the top of room. With great care and moving quietly he explored for a way in. He saw an insulated duct that was attached to the room. Probably air conditioning with a vent on the other side.
The duct was easy to pull back from the vent and Jason got a view of the room. Just as he did, whirring sounds, lights and other noises came from the room. When he peered in, he was shocked at the site he saw.
Robin didn't wait to see what was going to happen, he needed to get in there now.
He moved quickly across the outer ceiling until he found a panel that seemed to be outside the room he had been observing. He opened it and looked around, saw no one and dropped to the floor. This was an ante room and had lots of computer terminals and nooks and crannies in it. Also, luckily, it was dimly lit. A large dual sliding metal door separated him from the other room. He saw that it was a keypad lock and cursed at the time it would probably take to open it. But again luck was on his side.
He heard a door open from another part of the room, so he hid in the dark under a desk. He heard heavy metal clumps coming his way. “The mech.” He thought. He looked between a space between the desktop and it's side wall and indeed saw a mech, but it was a different one. Almost as large and maybe even more evil looking. It approached the doors and touched the keypad. The doors opened and it stepped through.
Jason threw caution to the wind and slipped into the room right behind the mech and then hid among the shadows. Now what.
So the image here was really to help spread the writing out a bit. When this story is over, I'll be posting some follow up images that will include full credits towards the story. There's a lot from DAZ and a number of freebies in there from people who've made some super hero props.

Well, that's a limited escape route. Then again, big bad bubba-bot is a bit large to fit into the air shaft. Lol! ")

Man, he's spending more time in air ducts and conduits than Bruce Willis in Die Hard! LOL! One question though... why has the mech that he encountered earlier not activated a base-wide security alert? Should there not be flashing lights and sirens going off all over the place? "Intruder Alert!" and all that jazz. Or have I overlooked something?
No, you have not. It did not fit into this chapter. Only three uploads a day and I have to write and create fitting images. Remember this is Bruce Waynes place and Dr. Cyber is doing this under his nose and using his facility. She does not want to alert the whole facility in this case. I'm hoping to have some more up this week, very soon in fact and you should have your answers.
