“Hah! You're the great Batman?! They should have let me at you a long time ago. You look old and tired.” She smiled an evil grin that reminded him too much of the Joker. She came again, quicker than a snake, and Bruce used her speed and weight against her. He drew her in and used her momentum to lift her right off the ground and toss her eight feet into the hard and heavy armor plating of the back of the SUV. She hit hard, face first and landed on her front side on the pavement. She didn't move. Bruce checked her carotid for a pulse and it was still there and still fairly strong. But she was out like a light.
By now, the Wayne Security men were over by the enemy SUV and collecting up the bodies. None were dead, even the one launched from the SUV, but the injuries went from severe to mild concussions to just scratches and burises. Everyone from the Wayne SUV was fine, also with minor cuts and bruising, including Julia.
Batman went to the SUV. The security had already called for backup which would be here in a few minutes. The police and ambulances were called too.
“Oh Batman!” Julia came running up to him and wrapped her arms around him. “Thank God! I saw my life flash before my eyes and didn't like what I saw.”
“Believe me, I'm glad you and everyone else is alright. Now, I have to ask. Since knowing Dr. Bryce or Cyber, did you ever undergo any surgery from her or have any skin anomalies show up?”
“Well, no surgery, but now that you mention it I've had a bump show up on my back left side above my butt cheek. Why?”
“Come with me.” He led Julia over to his bike and brought out his version of a first aid kit. It had sewing and stitching needles and thread, local anesthetics, bandages, anti-biotics and numerous things to allow even minor surgeries in the field. He could remove bullets and sew the wounds up with this kit.
“What's that for?” Julia's eyes grew wide.
“I believe the good doctor implanted a tracking device in you. Luckily for you it was non-explosive. Perhaps she still trusted you enough at the time it was implanted. Turn around and let me see.”
“Can't we go to the hospital for this?”
“No. We need her to think you're dead or at the least, no longer be able to trakck you. It will be safer for you that way if we take it out here.”
Bruce pulled out a small device that was an RF detector and held it over the bump he saw on Julia's back and sure enough it registered. He called over the sergeant for security.
“Take this and check all the soldiers, top to bottom and see if you pick up anything.”
“Right away.” And the sergeant went to task.
“Okay Julia. Let's do this. You'll feel the prick from the needle as I apply a local, but it looks like this is small and near the surface, so it should be easy to remove.” Batman reassured her.
“If you say so.” Julia leaned against the seat of the bike allowed Batman access.
He applied the anesthetic and then with the included scalpel made a tiny incision and pulled back the skin. Sure enough a small transceiver was revealed and removed. It was implanted and derived power from the host's body. When the body was deceased, the locator would stop working. Bruce promptly crushed it between his fingers, then cleaned and bandaged up Julia. “All done.”
“Thank you again Batman. Now what?” Julia smiled longingly at the tall man.
“Now we make this look real to Cyber.” And he walked to where the men had the women all in cuffs or tied off. “Sergeant, did you find anything?”
“Just in the big one. It's above her left shoulder blade.”
Batman went to her and she was now awake. “Screw you Batman!” And she spat at him. Her face and nose bloody from hitting the vehicle face first.

“A true lady I see.” Without ceremony he put a knee on her back and forced her over and looked close and found the bump. With the scalpel still in hand he held her tight and made a quick slice and took out the locator and crushed it. The woman didn't even flinch. “You know you're not gonna win. We have the faith and Scorn will bring her fury upon you!” “Whatever.” Bruce said. “Okay, which one is the communications expert? NOW!” He shouted. A woman who had been dragged out of the Rover with a big bump on her forehead spoke up saying in a small voice “me”. “Okay then. Time to call your boss and tell her Julia's dead, but you are under heavy fire and wont make it. She should see that your Captain here is already dead. Make the call.” Batman removed the zip ties that bound her hands. “Okay men lets shoot a few rounds into the ground to make this convincing.” The men looked at each other and shrugged then began to fire off rounds when the comm soldier connected with Cyber from the small belt radio. “Scorn, come in.” After a few moments, “Scorn here.” A tinny voice came back over the small radio. “Doctor, we have failed, Julia lives. Protocol Omega.” The comm agent responded. “That is too bad, but I'm glad you've kept the faith. You will be rewarded on the other side.” Batman grabbed the radio from the comm agent and signaled the men to stop shooting, meanwhile the larger woman began to laugh. “I told you Batman, you can't win.” Just then a piercing frequency emitted from the radio in Batman's hands causing everyone to wince and go to cover their ears. Just then, the RF detector that the sergeant was holding went crazy. He was standing among the women. All the women bowed their heads except Lilith who continued laughing. “See you in Hell Batman!” Continued...

Hope he stuffs it in her pants before it goes off..... Seems Cyber has brainwashed her cronies well. Excellent artwork - I think she's a bit surprised to find herself heading for a face-plant on the SUV! Excellent all then way, Art!
