Still playing around with my oversized crystal goblets I made in Silo 2. Using a lot of different shaders but I keep getting drawn back to the purity of glass. Yes I did get a lot of really cool images using a number of metal shaders but the glass is special. The environment can also play a big part in the final render. Metals need something to reflect whereas glass needs something behind it to refract although there is a secondary reflection component that the artist has to be aware of. All in all, the goblets make for great props to go along with my model, Julie.
NOTE: Pre-season NFL starts tonight with my SF 49ers taking on the Dallas Cowboys right here in Santa Clara - 4 miles straight down the expressway from where I live! I'm looking forward to a competitive season, and football allows me a lot of time for my artwork between games - Isn't life great!!!! Thanks for the peak, have a great weekend and enjoy!

Those are indeed some very lovely goblets - and so perfectly shaped as well. And yes - I do mean the glass ones. Once I finally noticed them... 😉
As always, a beautiful work of art, Dave!

Two jugs might have been more appropriate if not a bit crude.
Enjoy the game Dave, I know nothing about NFL except that although you call it Football players spend most of the time running around with it under their arm

Nice refraction effect on the glasses. Big, round things that come in pairs are always such a pleasure to look at. You should add in two giant watermelons as well. Or two beach balls. :P
