Description
I couldn't leave it at 11, and two boarders are better than one. Spent all day yesterday on this one, mostly because of muddling through with an over-stressed brain and not having enough sleep.
In the background is one of the pirate airships, with our friend Simone Lionheart on watch.
Rendered in layers. I'm starting to get the hang of that practice. I know some scenes will be harder, if the environment is contributing to shadows, but... any chance to speed up the process I should take, right? Background with ship and Simone rendered in 5 minutes, and then rendering Chani took 15.
Chani the Champ was rescued from the fighting pits of Rum-Badla. Her record still has yet to be broken. Since then, she's joined up with Captain Emeline. She prefers single combat, but in the pits that wasn't always a luxury.

Looks great, tried doing the layering thing myself for really large multi-character and crowd images, but it always comes out looking flat. Guess I'll keep on trying until I finally get it.

Another wonderful character creation.
If i might make a small suggestion, you might experiment with giving the figures a little more space to "breathe" in the frame and not crop quite so close so that extremities (or in this case the sword tip) get truncated...

Very nicely done. The idea of working in layers is a good one. I have found that shadow matching can be nicely achieved using sun and sky settings.I admire the detail each character gets with you. Each one has a backstory that makes him come alive. Well done and I hope to see many more.
Thank you. I'm practicing hard because I have a super complex scene to do, and I'm pretty sure my computer couldn't do it in one go. In a few months, I'll be able to start building a new PC. I've been tempted to pick up the graphics card first, and pop it in this machine. But honestly the hard drive and memory are the real bottlenecks.
