Description
A treat to find in your view finder, the Cedar Waxwing is a silky, shiny collection of brown, gray, and lemon-yellow, accented with a subdued crest, rakish black mask, and brilliant red wax droplets on the wing feathers. In fall these birds gather by the hundreds to eat berries, filling the air with their high, thin, whistles. In summer you’re as likely to find them flitting about over rivers in pursuit of flying insects, where they show off dazzling aeronautics for a forest bird. Length is about 7.3 inches (8 cm) long. I think that this is a male. Info from AllAboutBirds.org Do zoom for best details.

What a beauty! If we are lucky we get flocks of waxwing here to eat the berries. Photographers follow them round!

"In fall these birds gather by the hundreds to eat berries, filling the air with their high, thin, whistles." Much like college students returning to campus. A fantastic shot. And doesn't he look proud.

Checked out a few Cedar Waxwing videos on Youtube. They're such lovely birds! Wonder if they can be found in Singapore (where I stay). Great capture!
