I had a lot of fun with the Bryce Canyon series. There were 11 postings with a total of 54 favorites. That blew me away. THANKS to all that added those images to their favorites and all those who took the time to comment. On another note, our daughters visited last week and one of the places that we went, was the Morikami Japanese Gardens, west of Delray Beach, Florida. Lisa got behind me, to shot this shot, of me trying to snap a 4 foot (1.2 meter) Iguana.
I did not know that I had a bald spot, so let’s not comment on that, I’m still getting over the shock myself. Maybe it was just a gust of wind. :>) Anyway my shot will be posted tomorrow.
I could have put this in “humor” or “people” but I thought I could get away with “animals”, because of the Iguana.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments and favs.

Nah, it's just like my 'so-called' bald spot. I'd say it's the reflection off the water, or the lizard...or the SLR....yeah thats it.......the SLR. Mine is a Nikon but I have the same reflective problem!!!!!!!!!! Damn those shiny SLR's!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh this is a great capture! Makes me wonder though, who is doing the capturing, the person photographing the photographer, or the iguana catching the photographer in the act and the second photographer catching the iguana catching the first photographer in the act...obviously there's a lot of act-catching in this image, and it achieves positively Proust-like proportions. Ugh, and I just resorted to alliteration in a comment. What's up with that? Great work!

As Chip said, all kinds of capturing here and it's all good!!

Bald spot?? I thought you were talking about under those ears, ha ha! I know how it feels as I recently left my beard behind after wearing it for at least 20 years, so I look rather different too. I'll be looking forward to that Iguana shot tomorrow — it's not often you see someone taking a photo and then get the opportunity to see the result as well. From your position and stance, it's going to be a good one!

What really happened..... Lisa got behind me, to shot this shot, of me trying to snap a 4 foot (1.2 meter) Iguana. The iguana spun around and leapt at me ripping my camera out of my hands. Unfortunately, the camera strap was still around my neck and I was dragged into the water. You just won't believe how powerful a lizard can be when it has a $700 SLR in it's jaws. I grabbed the strap as I was pulled under - determined not to lose my prized and hard-earned snapper to the snapper - and clung on for dear life not realising that my life was actually in danger. Hand-over-hand I drew the camera strap closer until I was in striking range of the Iguana and tried to persude this thieving reptile that actually I would like my camera back, all the time forgetting that I was being pulled deeper into the lake as I punched the creature on the snout. It was at this moment I blacked out and woke up in a hospital bed. I'm now out of hospital and recuperating at home. However, I now have a bill for $300 for repairs to my camera which I apparently managed to dislodge from the lizards mouth, a hospital bill of $4400 for 3 days bed care - including treatment for ingesting a gallon of swamp water which resulted in a case of typhoid, a bill of $7000 for the air-sea rescue helicopter to take me to hospital and a summons to court on charges of cruelty to animals, fishing without a permit, feeding wildlife, swimming in a wildlife reserve, and reckless endangerment. If I'm found guilty I am facing 5 years in a Correctional Facility of the State's choosing and an unlimited fine. And to top it that lot all I got was this lousy snapshot my wife took. Screw photography! I'm downloading the free copy of Bryce and I'm staying indoors from now on!

Perhaps the family have been wondering how to tell you you had a bald spot & Lisa thought this was a way of letting you down gently :o) :o) The girls don't mind!!!!!!!! Great shot!!!!

Bald spot? what bald spot? Oh! On the iguana. Yeah, their fur tends to be rather sparse grin I love this picture of your daughter capturing you as you capture the iguana. And I also love TheBryster's take on what happened, LOL!!!!

superlative capture, I can't say whether the handsomer is the iguana or the photographer....;-D

Cool pic of you snapping the iguana as it suns itself on the rock, Dana! Remember, when it comes to embarrassing items in photographs, you can always clone them out.

Oh gosh - I had to come and have a look at Chris' (The Bryster) comment. How funny is that!!!!! Great shot that Lisa took!!!

Excellent picture Lisa took! I can see I've been away from your gallery for way too long. I'll be back tomorrow, and judging by the thumbnails, your Bryce Canyon pictures may earn another fav or two. Definitely the wind! You should see what a receding hairline it gives me and I haven't got one. Honest!
