Do you want some coffee before taking this hot and dusty road? Here it is… And you have the choice between three shops! For sure it is not the best italian expresso, but if you have nothing else, you can stop and drink! These strange carriages are very typical of this area (however, I do not say that they are common), but do notice also that in Black Africa an important part of life happens along the roads. As for many earlier posts of this series, this one was taken throught the window of a car which was running (I would say some 50kph, i.e some 30mph, when I took the pict). Alas, it was badly damaged in the bottom part, right by a big stone in the foreground, left by the right driving-mirror of the car where I was. And it was the sole picture I had of these shops. After an extensive postwork, mostly with the Clone Stamp tool, I succeeded in saving it. But I kept the big stone: after all, it was an element of this incredible scene. Thanks to people who commented my last photo (sorry, it was a goat, not a sheep):

My Senegal cars series is now probably ended, but I invite you to visit my wife mtc’s gallery. She will continue a photographic series on Senegal:

I really like your world view imagery. Its easy to forget that there's a whole earth to learn about. Photos as these help bring life into perspective.

Nescafe and Marlboro are familiar to names but a coffee shop like this is quite unusual for most of us. I have really been enjoying these strange vehicles series. There is something to think about if you look at the photos on the front of the cars in contrast to the real people in the photo. Fantastic shot especially if taken from an auto.
