from "Get Smart", a TV show by Mel Brooks from the 60's, the mysterious villain from China whose name Maxwell Smart could never pronounce... "not CRAW!! CL(R)AW!!!" and to begin to address minor complaints from friends about the hand and foot effectors for my 'monstrous mecha' attempt!
I made one claw from primitives then copied it around 6 times, with lots of grouping and ungrouping, scaling roating and unscaling of groups, it finally came together. then just assigned materials and added lights. later this will be hande & foote.
Thanks for viewing and the ever helpful comments!

Im a big Get Smart/Don Adams fan (well, ok, im really just a Get Smart/Inspector Gadget fan)! Why dont you model the dome of silence?, or is it broken? (hmz..you cant really model the coffing code...) --- Really nice detailed model here. Nice texturing and lighting, I cant really see any improvements needed.

I was completely in love with 99! :) __ The model is way cool, Jim, and the mats are perfect for it, so is the ligthing. A waaaaaaay excellent job, I think Maxwell now would be worried to shakin' hands with the Chinese... ;-)

Excellent modelling. Love the texture on that ball. I think the picture speaks for itself.

Hey, I'm STILL in love with 99, what're you talkin' about? I can't resist picking one tiny nit: when the claw is in the grasping mode,I think the effectors should show a bit of extended ram piston, versus their'open' position where the ram is completely within the cylinder. No?

bigkahuna, you are 100% correct! i just rotated without stretching the pistons. now, i just noticed on the right side, they don't connect to the collar - blast! back to the modelling department for this one!
