This ancient stained glass shows a protector angel of the famous Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris. Angels are creatures of the spiritual world who (which is logical but funny and not at all realistic) are depicted with a human body. But two millenia from now, the Son of God, Jesus, took the form as a human baby who later, as both an adult man and God himself, having teached people for prayer and love, was killed in sacrifice for the salvation of mankind. However, three days later, He was seen alive, then disappeared to human eyes. Today we have to keep His life in mind as a precious jewel, which can led us to be better and to distrust of the Evil. The latter one can take millions of different shapes, and manoeuver as puppets some men pretending that they are making God’s will.
I wish to everybody at Renderosity a merry Christmas, for them and for their friends and parents, an excellent health, and a year full of artistic creations. And I thank heartily everybody who have had so kind relationships with me since that I have been a Renderosity member.

I really love these examples of stained glass as I used to work with glass. But, of course, I used modern tools for cutting, grinding and soldering copper foil and lead came. I've read of the methods employed during the middle ages and can only marvel at the wonderful and enduring results. Thank you for presenting this fine piece of glass art. Merry Christmas, Edouard, to you and yours. And the best of New Years.

A very nice stained glass window, Edouard. I like it. I have been to York Minister in the North of England ( before the fire ). I enjoyed their 'rose window'. Unfortunately, up here in Scotland, most of the pre-Reformation stained glass was broken by the Reformers. There are some newer vitreaux in Scotland, though. My own church is having a new stained glass window installed in 2008. It was designed by children aged 10-11 years. One year I may visit France, if I can travel again. Your sentiments about the coming of the Christ Child are noted. I was advised over 35 years ago that whatever brought me closer to God, came from Him. Whatever took me away from Him, was not from God. Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee, mon ami. God bless and keep you and your family. Experience the Peace and Joy of His birth, and the awe and wonder and praise of whatever the New Year brings to you. Warm regards, John.
