Cpl Rigg's Diary: - Part 3 of 6 in the series
Ahhh the best laid plans... Yesterday we were prepping to hit the 'Bug's' at sundown. But the friggin' 'Bug's' found us first. If it hadn't been for the 'Mech-Marine's' posted out front, I wouldn't be writing this. They hit us fast and they hit us hard.
I managed to get into the fight just as they were starting to overrun the compound. One of the bugs, a big old ugly boy, had knocked 'Martinez' on her ass and he was about to do her. Well, I got my shot off and it was 'Tango Down.' He dropped like a sack of potatoes, so we know standard rounds are effective. You know what, I don't want to talk about that. She was pretty beat up, but she made it.
We got a quick dust-off for those that got clobbered and they are all probably headed state's side for medical attention as I write. All in all, we took an ass-kicking but we got lucky, we didn't lose anyone.
It's still on for tonight. We are going over to their house to play. We are going in light, as some of our team got pretty banged up. Never the less, it's payback time and we are going to 'rock-n-roll' their ugly asses,
