years back, I lived w/ my girlfriend in a section of Chicago that's now called "boystown", called so because of the large gay population. It was radical in those days, and as we got to know so many of the gay men there, we heard story after story of how badly they'd been treated by society as a whole. (I was a store manager in that neighborhood, and got close to many people in it, and learned a ton.) To see the Pride celebrations now---and know that gay and lesbian marriage is legal in so many places--is just beaming and wonderful. We have a ways to go, but we've come a long way.....Love the depictions here, and that this has kids as well as adults in it, and a performance too. (And a guy on stilts---right out of a medieval village with artisans and singers!) A wonderful site to have out your window, barb. Thanks for sharing it.
