That day she took us to a park she had found since she had been staying with me in Ljianstipol, the same park she had been searching for since she arrived two months ago. Far on the outskirts of the town and extending out into the farmlands beyond, she had seen it from the bus window and been trying to find it since she got here. On the Friday after my photo shoots during the week we headed there to relax, unwind and reflect on the week that had just passed, during my crash on the second part of my photo shoot she had spoken to me about coming here. The park itself stretched for miles, extended far beyond Ljianstipol and overlooking the start of the mountain range, the same mountains she claimed to be the gateway to that strange place she spoke about.
While we walked through the park it became obvious that something was affecting her, she seemed quieter than normal, a few times she seemed to be staring endlessly into space? Somewhere we found a meadow which overlooked the mountains in the distance, she sat on a tree stump gazing over the mountains when I heard her sniffling? Walking over to her to see if she was okay, her little red cheeks told the story she was struggling with. Before the big party she had spent weeks raving about, she wanted to bring me out here to tell me her plans to leave, in private and very much a touching moment as she unveiled her plans to go back to the strange place she hailed from.
Struggling to tell me everything, I went and sat with her on the stump she had found, slowly she told me how she was heading away so that she could return soon, just she couldn't tell me how soon it might be. Whatever her reasons for leaving, I was supportive, she had been so good to me and life would really never be the same without her around, we spoke until the sun began to drop. Resting her back I thanked her for everything she had done for me and told her how much I would miss her but she would always have a friend and a home here with me. Most of all I thanked her for telling me first and in private, she would naturally tell people at the party but after all we had been through in the last two months she owed it to me to tell me first.
While we watched the sun slowly vanish behind the mountains, we planned our last week together before she would get that bus back to her town before she would head to the mountains and beyond. Among our plans was a return visit to this very park, but with a small tweak on her park for whatever reason she wanted to wear the same things we had the day she found me in the park in town? Though I wasn't sure why this was her request, given how she had changed my life there was not a single thought in my mind to saying no to the odd stipulation.
Whatever happened until she would return I would miss her, no matter how much I couldn't imagine my life without her, she needed to do this for herself and of course she promised to come back and as of yet my little friend had never lied to me.
