Well done, many of you have found the answer: it is the lotus fruit (pod), when it is dry and has lost all its seeds!
Thanks to everyone who looked for an answer, good or bad. And thank you for some humorous answers!

In today's image, we can see a lotus flower in bud, another in bloom, and the fruit, this one still bears the seeds.

Bravo, beaucoup d'entre vous ont trouvé la réponse: c'est le fruit du lotus (gousse), quand il est sec et a perdu toutes ses graines!
Merci à tous ceux qui ont cherché une réponse, bonne ou mauvaise. Et merci pour quelques réponses humoristiques!

Dans l'image d'aujourd'hui, on peut voir une fleur de lotus en bouton, une autre en fleur, et le fruit, celui-ci porte encore les graines

Merci Jean-Claude pour ces jeux de réflexions. Ta photo d'aujourd'hui est très intéressante comme le dit Danielle. Si j'avais l'occasion d'avoir une grande propriété avec un plan d'eau, j'avoue que je craquerais volontiers pour en planter. Mais ce sera peut être dans une autre vie à moins qu'un loto me tombe dessus

It was a great challenge Jean-C. I love the lotus flowers, so it was easy to me. It is a good thing of showing parts, so people recognize things better.
