Description
One of my older characters. This is my final iteration in just two renders with no postwork. If I allowed myself to do something in post, I would have cleaned up the feathers, light, and hair so that it took on an illustrated style. Visual storytelling in cg is horribly difficult, and always falls into the uncanny valley... Maybe it's not worth it after all?

Not worth it?!?! Don't be ridiculous. You have made a fantastic, 3D printable maquette. If it could be printed and coloured, it's exactly the sort of thing the people over on the statueforum.com go absolutely nuts for. It is really good. There is action, dynamism, strangeness and interest all wrapped up in one.
