Description

This is the same character as my last image. Just a simple pinup without much of a back story. This is a by product of a request/challenge from my wife. She challenged me to do a "Naked and Un-Afraid" on a beach with Onora. It seemed like a simple challenge, so I began working on it. Well, of course nothing is ever as simple as it should be. After working on the image for about a week, and still not happy with it, I decided to change focus for more of a pinup style image, and this is the result. Of course, this image took longer than expected too (about 4 days), and I'm just now finishing up the original concept image (I'm still not 100% happy with it, but my wife really likes it, so I'll post it when it's complete).

The "scene" is the Secluded Beach HDRI from HDRI Haven (the same HDRI I used for Naked and Un-Afraid, which I will post a bit latter), rotated to give a view of the water. The lighting is pretty simple, the HDRI provides most of the lighting with a few spots for rim lights and the camera head lamp set to a very low intensity to provide a bit of fill light (offset 285 to the left). The hair is Classic Long Curly Hair, and I used a wind node to help simulate it blowing in the wind. The image has the usual post processing steps to add vignette and higher contrast to the details.

Glad it helped, HDRI's are a great resource. There are some that are made specifically for lighting too (not photographs). IIRC Paper Tiger has some available here. The HDRI's designed as photo studio lighting get great results quickly.

Very well done! Haha! Your wife is challenging you in doing nude scenes? Thats funny! Thank you for the insight of the making and the used resources of this scene. This helps to learn new things and to get inspired. I wish more artists would do so.
