Description
It is the night of Saturday 9 April (or 26 March) of 1300, around four in the morning. At the beginning of Canto XII Dante meets the Minotaur and places him to guard the VII Circle of Hell where the violent are punished.
.. Pàrtiti, bestia, ché questi non vene
ammaestrato dalla tua sorella,
ma vassi per veder le vostre pene..."
...e tra 'l piè de la ripa ed essa, in traccia
corrien centauri, armati di saette,
come solien nel mondo andare a caccia...
Io vidi gente sotto infino al ciglio;
e 'l gran centauro disse: "E' son tiranni
che dier nel sangue e ne l'aver di piglio...
.. Pàrtiti, beast, because these are not veins
taught by your sister,
but I went to see your pains ... "
... and between the foot of the river and it, in trace
corrien centauri, armed with thunderbolts,
like solien in the world go hunting ...
I saw people under the edge;
and the great centaur said, "They are tyrants
that I will die in my blood and take it ...

I like the way you translate the different circles of hell by the degrees of transparency of your image. The red swirls form as many fringes of drape, blood, fire, while the little flaking of the Minotaur, makes us almost sensitive to its internal faults, only the interlacing of the chain of the damned seems an impassable border.

I do not know much about the various mythologies, but this picture makes me think of the evil spirit (the Minotaur0 who manipulates the damned souls (the darker characters in the background) into fighting against each other, forever in hell. This is exactly what we are witnessing right now. Fascinating illustration!

The last line looks striking and should be about the background, so attacking from behind, I think that old stories, I remember, I read in a book.. in the darkness! Like a hunter, between two hands, it's a very evil thing but knocked it down.. This a great visual, it makes people think, very well done!
