A timeless SteamPunk beauty and a timeless camera. The view camera was one of the first cameras types to be developed and by 1850 was already in use. It is still being manufactured today and used by a few serious photographers. The one shown in this image is a field camera, so called because of its ability to fold up into a case for travel. I have always liked these cameras but have never used one.
For the image I tried to make it look like a studio. There is a single HDR for light and I removed the roof and most of the walls from the building prop to get as much light into the scene as possible. The reflections and refraction just happened and I was really happy with how that looked. I hope you like the image.

I love your character and scene! Great information about the old camera, also. I saw a few old cameras in a museum, and the display was very interesting. Thank you for sharing!

A most beautiful steampunk lady, and a gorgeous scene!
I actually had a 4 X 5 view camera tears ago - it wasn't as gorgeous as this one, but it did give me some excellent 4 X 5 negatives, and a few Ectachrome positives as well.. I actually scanned all the ones I still have to preserve the images.

My favorite parts - are the way light refracts inside all those lenses, including the ones in her hand. I love it when things like glass and lace look so real in a render. Like little miracles happening for us. 😻
