Description

New year new picture. USS Enterprise in 1962. It was it's maiden cruise. I investigated all the squadrons with their tail hooks. Some were not really sure so I had to improvise. But I think to 90% all are correct. Here we see a F-4B of VF-102 on catapult one. The last check on the bridles are done and then, here we go... On the background right you can see how an F-8H of VF-33 is moving to catapult two and in the background left the fins of A-5A of the detachment VAH-7. The crew had not the vests in 1962 like today.

She was commissioned the year I was born. All I ask is a bouncing flight deck and a nervous flight control officer 😁 excellent historical recreation!

Really nice render! Great point of view and the varied poses of the deck crew really contribute to the piece. Even the background activity with the F-8 is a plus. Great attention to detail.
