Description
Ohki's totally awesome Mayu came out right when I was turning my Alexa character into Erin (which I posted in my freebies). Alexa actually started from an earlier Erin, which I didn't release. I went from Alexa to a new Erin.
Anyway, since Alexa is a kind of teen half-asian looking character, I wondered how one of Ohki's always beautiful textures would work. I've been waiting for Mayu for quite a while and soon as I saw her, she was in my cart and then runtime.
I did a few renders with Superfly and various hair shaders and setups. Can *NOT* get quick renders. They take hours. On a 36 core iMacPro with 128GB RAM. Sure, things like BBs nice hair shader. but still. Clearly I am not super skilled with that render engine.
But I fired up Reality and wow, it still works, even after the 11.2 change. With the fix, of course. And Luxrender spit out the render in a few minutes. That was always my fave thing about reality+lux. Do not need to tweak the wall of setting and nest of nodes to get a good render. There are some odd La Femme model choices that make it less that perfect. The whole eyesurface thing, instead of a cornea.
Anyway, this is just Alex with Mayu's textures through Reality+lux. Total render time: like 5 minutes.

And yes... Superfly is slow. My promos usually cook for an entire day each. Gotta try Reality - but I can't really use that for promos sadly, as I gotta show what the products look like natively in Poser
