Pretty unusual for me to draw something like this, but this is a portrait of Alejandro Jara, a Chilean statistician. I drew this as a gift for him. I hope he likes it.

I really enjoy your pencil technique. It is far different form what I use to produce (LOL). I think AJ will definitely enjoy it!!!

his first name was the name of a very good friend of mine from Monterrey,Mexico(died young at 41) and the middle name of my oldest son. the link below has a picture of Alejandro Jara. your portrait is a very good likeness
outstanding portrait even though there is nothing to compare it to. I use to do pencil portraits, but got away from it and never returned

Merci a jclP.
And thank you to Richardphotos
That photo must be very old. AJ has certainly gained a lot of weight and lost a lot of hair since then. He no longer looks like a strong young guy, and in fact when I gave him my drawing he commented that he looked more handsome than in reality, (which is true). For reference, I took a few snapshots of him over lunch when he thought I was just messing with my phone, and then I surprised him with this portrait.
Things that are not quite right include the mouth, which should be slightly higher, and the general head structure, which should be slightly thinner towards the top. That said, I think it is a successful likeness, and most people would be able to recognize him from this portrait with no difficulty.
