Hello Rendosians, I'm maybe a little in advance for Halloween but I wanted to share this picture of mine with you. I took this picture this summer in San Antonio : the colorful representation of Death is a mystery for me. Maybe Mexican peoples think that Death is a gateway to a better world, a better life... As for the title, I was inspired by Coldplay's album Viva la Vida (or death and all his friends) I used to rule the world Seas would rise when I gave the word Now in the morning I sleep alone Sweep the streets I used to own I used to roll the dice Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes Listen as the crowd would sing: Now the old king is dead! Long live the king! One minute I held the key Next the walls were closed on me And I discovered that my castles stand Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain Once you'd gone there was never, never an honest word That was when I ruled the world Thanks for your support and comments on my last image ! Une photo très colorée, souvent à l'inverse des couleurs et de l'ambiance de la Toussaint, une fête calquée sur la fête celtique de Samhain, dont Hallowe'en est la version irlandaise plus récente et vidée de son sens primitif, une version qui a franchi l'océan pour se retrouver très populaire aujourd'hui aux Etats-Unis.Tu as compris ce que je pense de cette célébration commerciale, entre les lignes, je pense ! Cela dit, ta photo apporte un éclairage particulier, l'après-vie, ressentie par les Amérindiens, avec l'idée d'un autre monde aussi coloré que le nôtre! Merci pour cette très belle photo, Virginie, et pour la référence à Cold Play, qui sont incontournables.

En effet sort des sentiers battus de l'ambiance que l'on veut porter à Halloween, la photo est belle et est bien mise en valeur, c'est magnifique Virginie, bravo

Les Mexicains ont su donner au jour des morts (dont je viens de lire que cette célébration a été inscrite au patrimoine de l'humanité) un aspect presque joyeux...ça change des célébrations grises et larmoyantes ! Quant à Halloween, je suis comme Jean-Luc, plus que réservé ! Très bonne photo comme toujours, colorée, gaie qui montre bien qu'au fond, ces crânes sourient.

Certains voient la mort d'une façon bien différente de la nôtre, et après tout, avec autant de couleurs, elle est belle à regarder! Superbe photo à la fois pour Halloween et pour la Toussaint des origines (pas confondu avec la Fête des Morts)!
