Mono lake from a dirt road that we had to turn around and it was not easy to turn as it was just one lane and a cliff that would drop us about 100 feet. Both my son who was driving and me was scary as we not use to this stuff in mountains but we use to flat land . Mono Lake in Calif. by Lee Vining

It looks like the trip was worth it. You made it back alive, and got this beautiful shot. It's good to see you back posting again.

It was worth the tricky driving--look how beautiful this is! Mono lake is weird and wonderful up close, too, with it's tufa (sp?) formations.

oh yeah, if you're used to the South, driving out west can be a challenge! (When I was out west, years back, I didn't think we'd come back alive...some of those roads are death-defying!) Love the deep shadows here, and the sweeping plunge of your landscape. And then all that beautiful soft light in the background, with low sweeping mountains, and high clouds...A powerful sweeping shot.
