Description
During my recent stay in Oberammergau there wasn't enough snow for cross country skiing. But many people go for walks on the trails available and often take their dogs. In this region of Bavaria, all along the northern fringes of the Alps, the conditions are nor suitable to grow traditional crops, grown elsewhere in Germany. Instead, most of the land consists of pastures intersected with stands of mostly coniferous trees. The pastures are used by local farmers to graze their cattle and produce meat, milk, butter and cheese. To meet the strict standards set forth by Germany and the EU, farmers post these and similar signs to warm visitors to keep dogs on the leash, clean up after them, and avoid any contact with the dairy cattle.

A nice, graphic sign. There are similar ones in Sweden, but most are simple text signs, no pictures. Dogs also have a dog rest room yard, but the owner must still pick up after their pets and discard in specially constructed poo cans. Thanks for the laugh. Keep up the good work! :-)

a home not far from me has a sign stating dog urine or excrement is not allowed in their yard. I like to know what they expect someone walking their dog to do. the dogs give no warning for urinating
