Description

Many thanks for commenint so kindly on my previous image of my beloved granddaughter Vika. Here's a different story: "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think that they will sing to me." The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. T.S. Eliot

This is brilliant, Nikolay. You must have been a 19th century master in a previous life. Just be careful you are hearing mermaids and not sirens.

Thank you, Mark! Whenever by the sea, I always keep a pair of earplugs at hand in order not to confuse.

With all the easy quick-filtered photographs around (where the photographer quickly applies a "watercolor" filter to a photo, or an "oil painting" filter), your painterly treatments of photography are unique. You put so much intuition and subtlety into these, and so much feeling, you are in another realm. You've turned the waves in to swaths of fleece, and also textured glass. In fact the walker looks like he's seen through very heavy textured glass. And the lower portion of the image looks like a 19th C oil painting---but not via a simple filter, but via the delicacy and thoughtfulness of your transformations. As for the Prufrock, it fits the image perfectly; though your image has more peace in it than his poem. A beautiful piece of thoughtful, detailed photographic transformation...
