Parys Mountain Anglesey, also known as Copper mountain was once the biggest Copper mine in the world ( in the 18th century)
Copper has been mined here for 4000 years!

And most of that copper went to the Mediterranean countries to make bronze items. There are similar mines in the region of the Great Lakes in the USA. Much copper from there also went to the Mediterranean. Interesting to see what the miners have left behind - a ruined landscape among other things. But at the same time very interesting. I wonder how much copper was extracted here. Keep up the good work! :-)

That sure is one colourful slice of the country side, never realized there were so many variation in the copper ore.

very similar environmentally polluted landscape can be seen around old gold,copper,silver, among other old mines.
makes for a colorful landscape however
