Your painting is perfect: Less background distraction and more people.

the white derby hat seems out of place for a prom, but the party goers wants to outdo the other ones.
very good spur of the moment capture

Glad you survived the encounter with the guy that confronted you! A nice looking group of people!

You did a fantastic job making a painting from this.

You are really good at painting, from what you spot here and there. I admire you for that.

Thats cool to see the photography also, the painting is more mystical because of the tree and the missing buildings! But in this image it is funny that the lady with the red evening dress is wearing "flipp flopps" instead of highheels 😅

Very cool to see the picture, Jock! That guy looks so pissed off. LOL. And guess what? He's probably pissed off at the entire world. And yeah I noticed the flip flops too. She's probably taller than her boyfriend so she didn't wear heals to make her even taller. LOL.

Cool shot, Jock, and it really shows how well you captured the scene in your painting.

Yep, that just shows what a great painting you did of this scene. Took the objective reality and added your own feelings and sensibility to it, making it more than just mere reality.

I had to comment on this, because of all the changes you made in the painting. You took out everything but the people and tree, and you made it timeless. Plus, you gave such deep reds and oranges to the tree and surrounding. And the pink and red dresses, here, are brought alive brilliantly in your painting. You turned a scene into a bristling, living moment. You do these transformations beautifully.
