Description

once more for for Luciferino, inspired by Soffy According to Greek myth, Apollo chased the nymph Daphne Ovid's Metamorphoses,[7 "where the god's infatuation was caused by an arrow from Eros, who wanted to make Apollo pay for making fun of his archery skills and to demonstrate the power of love's arrow. Ovid treats the encounter, Apollo's lapse of majesty, in the mode of elegiac lovers,[8] and expands the pursuit into a series of speeches. According to the rendering Daphne prays for help either to the river god Peneus or to Gaia, and is transformed into a laurel (Laurus nobilis): "a heavy numbness seized her limbs, thin bark closed over her breasts, her hair turned into leaves, her arms into branches, her feet so swift a moment ago stuck fast in slow-growing roots, her face was lost in the canopy. Only her shining beauty was left." Posted about a year ago I have never taken the time to tell you, Orietta, that I have enjoyed meeting you through your art and with your comments through the years... thank you ! Nor can I express to all the other artists, in whatever endeavour, how much I appreciate your individual expressions through this medium. Artistry is partly a gift, but as with any accomplishment, talent, vision and effort are required. For these, I gladly thank each of you and appreciate the supportive manner in which you conduct Renderosity Cordialement a vous Kenn https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daphne

A lovely photo, Kenn, and eloquent words, my friend. Your photos and vision are an inspiration also.

Those Greek gods were a rowdy lot, weren't they? :-D

This Winter flowering plant in bloom is so deliciously sweet scented, as honeysuckle after a Spring shower... creates an aromatic arch across steps to my home.
