Love the colors and textures in the wonderful painting on top, done in a Vincent van Gogh style, Jock, and magnificently cool colors and effects in the bottom image. You are very talented, married or not.

I already commented on the bottom painting (I loved it, as you know); but wow, that top painting---done in the 1970s? I agree with Harry, it's got a real van gogh feeling in it. You used really intense brushstrokes, which pulse through the whole canvas. And your light---omg. The yellow light around the lowest bushes is wonderful---it's luminous. And then the light in the sky---with those whites and greens and blues? An apocalyptic sky! Even the trees have light, via those strong red brushstrokes. The trees are alive. I mean, they have no leaves---maybe this is fall or early spring---but they are alive. You were doing intense painting even back then! Marvelous, Jocko, and thank you for your very kind comments, and your recollection on Vietnam too, and your thoughts on it. I appreciated it very much.

These are both exquisite, Jock - but that's no surprise, your work is always amazing!
The top painting definitely has a Van Gogh look to it - reminiscent of Vincent's 'Starry Night' but with your own wonderful twist to it. Delightful work on both, my friend!
