I created this as a way to judge the new IRAY rendering in DAZ3D. However, after 2 hours of render time and the image only being 50% completed, I ran out of time and had to abandon the IRAY render. From what I could tell, yeah, it looked a little more true to life, but it had other issues I didn't care much for, e.g. the picture on the computer screen in the image looked like it was rolling like and old TV with bad reception (what's up with that?). Also, some of the rendered lighting didn't depict what I had set up the lighting to do in certain instances. Hmmm? Anyway, everything in this image, except the main Asian balljoint doll character, are CGI surrogates for real objects and art pieces I have done and have here at home. The balljoint girl only exists in Daz, and technically, I guess so does the image on the computer monitor. Of course, many artists have the little wooden mannequin guys- especially those of us who are older and didn't have DAZ or Poser, etc, to help us work out perspective so well. The other figure on the desk represents a repurposed action figure I redesigned to become my own character from a graphic novel idea I was/am working on. The sticky note is one of my band's logos. The picture on the wall to the right is a chalk drawing on black posterboard. The picture on the wall to the left is a graphite depiction of my wife from back before we lived in the same country and we had to entertain each other via Skype.
