Description
As a teen I lived in Gloucester, Massachusetts which was part of Cape Ann, jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean. My neighbor, Mr Arnold, was the lighthouse keeper and he would let me fish off of the rocks behind the lighthouse. I found this rock formation that looked like a woman resting. I have rotated this 60 year old photo to make it easier to see Mother Ann. The photo on Wikipedia is not that good.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.
They are very much appreciated.

I like the history to this capture and having Mother Ann watching over you while you fished, must have been very comforting. ~Cheer~

What fun! I have lived many places and it seems most of them have some kind of rock-face formations with various accompanying legends. I have not yet found one here in the Netherlands...perhaps because it is mostly flatland where I live. Thanks for sharing the legend of Mother Ann. I am so glad she never did tell on you.

Wow, that is really neat! It seems that New England is the place to find faces in cliffs, with the Indian Head, the poor Old Man of the Mountains and Mother Ann!

You were as good at taking pictures back then as now, awesome capture and manipulation, love it!

Poor woman is a widow now. I read an article in 2013 when the Old Man of the Mountain collapsed. Ann is even more realistic than he was. Fantastic image.
