Description

Hi Friends, This is a seed pod of love-in-a-mist. I wanted it to dry. And then in a crazy mood, I put it on its feet, and found it so funny, because it seemed to be dancing. So I called her Mathilda. Who do not like dancing? I think everybody. I've always been very fond of dancing, and have done years of jazz ballet, and modern dance. But my luminary was surely the twist. Once, my partner and I were the winner of a twist-dance competition. LOL But, what a disappointment, when I found the background meaning of this title, I saw it was much sung in several world wars. Matilda is incidentally a duffel bag. It is an old folk song from Australia, written in 1895. The melody is of the Scottish song "Craigielee". Thank you very much for your your lovely comments on my yesterday horse.

A special favourite annual of mine Mies - and a lovely jolly photograph of your waltzing Mathilda.......once you have them you are never without. I like how the seed pods change from light green to ruby red whilst the seeds are ripening. Thankyou very much for the information on Mathilda! I shall think of you when my seeds are drying now:-)

Ha, that was a brilliant idea, Jacomina :-) In this way it looks very elegant and lovely. I see why you think it is dancing, so Mathilda was a fine name for it. :))) And I didnt know about Mathilda either, but of course I know the song :D
