Hi guys, I believe this to be my most realistic render yet. I'm quite proud of it and sure did work really hard to complete this image. Everything was done inside of Softimage XSI.
I always try to challenge myself with new creative techniques to achieve my goals and Softimage is the perfect software for this because of ICE (Interactive Creative Environment). ICE allows you to create anything in Softimage. With this image for instance, I developed a new technique to style hair with ICE. Styling 3D hair has always been difficult and time consuming but with my new technique, which I will continue to improve, I get great result very quickly. I also created my own ICE deformer to make the breast and the hand collide in a way that mimic flesh. It's a subtle effect but adds even more realism to the image. I also used ICE to simulate the cloth piece around the character so as you can see, ICE is a huge part of a Softimage workflow...
To render the image I used the Arnold Render Engine for Softimage by Solid Angle which is an amazing renderer. I also build my own custom Skin Shader to achieve the best looking skin that I could. To do that I went online and did some research on how skin reacts to light and try to replicate that with Arnold materials.
It took me about two months to complete this image, because of all the trials and errors and research I did, and I sure hope you like it.

The skin looks really nice and I like the way the cloth drapes but what I like best is the way you deformed the breast, that adds so much to the image. Great job.
