Description

I don’t remember where but it was taken in May 2009 and I am guessing with my old Minolta. Maybe the San Francisco Zoo. This Tarantula was much to big to be in the insect genre. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

I always intended to keep tarantulas, but before I got round to it I became allergic to insect hair. She can't be in the insect genre as spiders aren't insects..too many legs! It is a superb pic!!

I had one as a pet some years ago. Caught it ourselves in the desert on the border. After we set it up at home in its aquarium, we discovered they have a bit of an attitude. :-) But we learned to work with it and watched it for 3 years until it finally decided enough was enough. This is a marvelous shot!

That's a beautiful fur coat it has; great in a picture, but I wouldn't want one in my house!

Splendid lighting and texture in this shot of the handsome multisegmented critter, Dana. Each of the leg segments look like the tip from an artist's paint brush. And, spiders are arachnids, and not insects.
