Taking extreme liberties here with Mesopotamian mythology - the brickwork of this imagined ruin shows a relief of Atergatis and Dagon, two middle-eastern deities.
There is a theory doing the rounds that that another legendary fish-man, Oannes, who is said to have brought civilisation to Babylon, (agriculture, writing etc) was misremembered as "a fish" because he was perhaps based on an early seafarer clothed in exotic scale-like armour.
Humans are nothing if not consistent...
Rendered in Poser 6. The ruin is modelled in Shade 8 with the bas-relief applied as a bump map onto a sand material in Poser. The modern "Marine" visitor to the area is M4 with the DAZ/DS3D US Army Combat uniform and Infantry Combat Equipment.
